It’s the time of year again when the motorsport eyes of our nation are on one race - the Bathurst 1000, the Great Race.
As Tickford Racing gear up for the big event, their Monster Mustang will once again be piloted by Cam Waters and his 2021 and 2022 co-driver James Moffat. True to the saying ‘never change a winning team’ the two will try and go one better than in the two previous outings, when they drove their #5 Mustang to a runner-up podium finish. Waters also finished second in 2020 with co-driver Will Davison. 2023 will see Waters’ twelfth Bathurst appearance.
The 2023 Supercars season has been a mixed one for Waters, with the Gen3 Mustangs throwing some serious challenges at Team Tickford. A recent 2nd place at the Bend clearly demonstrates an upwards trend, which the team is hopeful they can continue at the Mountain.
Disc Brakes Australia has been supporting Tickford Racing and Cam Waters since the 2021 season and are proud to be the team’s exclusive Brake Partner. The partnership has seen the DBA brand present on the headlights of all four of the team’s Mustangs, as well as on the driver suits and crew shirts.
Importantly, the teamwork doesn’t stop there. As part of the collaboration, vehicle enhancement outfit Tickford Automotive offers the DBA performance brake package on their current Ford Ranger and Mustang models. Says Lars Mehlan, Marketing Manager Disc Brakes Australia: “Working with Tickford has given us invaluable feedback for the development of some of our high-performance brake applications, and it’s great to see in return Tickford putting their confidence in the DBA product. We wish Tickford Racing all the best for their 2023 Bathurst campaign.”
The 2023 Repco Bathurst 1000 runs from 5 to 8 October at Mount Panorama, Bathurst.
