With over 2,000 SKUs in stock, Disc Brakes Australia now has the right brake caliper, master cylinder, brake cylinder, brake hose and brake fluid for the application!
Disc Brakes Australia (DBA) over the last six months have successfully launched a new range of replacement brake calipers, master and wheel cylinders, and brake hoses under its STREET SERIES label. This new hydraulics range complements DBA’s market leading range of brake rotor and its vast range of friction products.
With over 2,000 SKUs already available and another several hundred due for release before the end of the year, customers benefit from extensive coverage, in addition to DBA’s second-to-none product quality and technical support.
“We’re on track to becoming the brake solution supplier of choice, with our product coverage for both rotors and pads now sitting north of 95% in the ANZ market. Our Street Series hydraulics program will offer the ideal complement to our well-established rotor and friction ranges.” says Brian Johns, Head of Product, Innovation and R&D at Disc Brakes Australia.
The new range has been meticulously catalogued on DBA’s online ‘Part Finder’ catalogue, accessible via their website discbrakesaustralia.com.au. This includes a unique database of competitor-to-DBA cross-references to facilitate part identification. The new hydraulic range is also being linked to all major Australian and international industry database formats.
Technically, the hydraulic components are manufactured to the highest available quality standards, conforming to TS 16949, the internationally recognised Quality Management System specification for the automotive industry. ”Our STREET SERIES hydraulic cylinders are an attractive value-for-money proposition to our customers. They are competitively priced whilst meeting or even exceeding OE specifications. This quality is achieved, amongst others, by a fully traceable manufacturing process from raw materials to the finished goods. All sub-components and sub-assemblies are measured and inspected at each stage, and all plastic components and reservoirs are 1:1 re-engineered to be impervious to the required fluids.” explains Johns.
Prior to sign-off and shipping, DBA ensures all parts go through a full durability test regime inclusive of ambient and high/low temp testing. Internal checks are carried out for bore roundness, roughness and hardness. Reservoirs are pressure tested, as well as all springs and seals for completeness. Each product is also sealed prior to boxing, ensuring the product is free from particulate matter for direct use at the workshop straight from the box.
Like its cylinder counterparts, STREET SERIES brake hoses come with a range of technological and quality features that set them apart from the competition. The tubes are made from extra durable EPDM rubber, all end fittings are made from high-grade steel and electroplated with a zinc coating for superior corrosion and rust resistance, and banjo end fittings are supplied with copper washers for better sealing properties, to name a few.
Says Johns: “Like the cylinders, our brake hoses undergo extensive quality and durability testing. Customers will appreciate that DBA’s test criteria by far exceed those of other brands in the market. Our hoses surpass SAE International standards for durability by up to 400% or nominally up to 200 hours. They are tested to ensure a market-leading burst pressure rating of 10,000psi, and a tensile strength of 560lb. Finally, the volumetric expansion is approx. 60% lower than required by SAE international standards. Lower volumetric expansion aids the speed of fluid transfer when braking, hence reducing braking distance.”
Each STREET SERIES brake hose, where applicable, is supplied with brackets, moulded plastic guards, and wire clips for ease of installation. All brake hoses come in easy-to-store, straight plastic sleeves, to eliminate material fatigue from rubber being bent inside the packaging.
All STREET SERIES hydraulic components are easily identifiable by an imprinted ‘dba’ logo on the product, giving customers the peace of mind they are purchasing a quality product, and are covered by DBA’s product warranty of 12 months or 20,000km.
